A new home on Waiheke Island

Christmas in New Zealand,

getting to know Family members here

in this wonderful Country, saying Good bye to our Son Mark,

 to our Son Dirk and his wife,

finding our place to live in, unpacking memories and furniture..

there we are - on Waiheke Island!

 

I still can´t quite get my head round it,

but it is slowly becoming reality..

a beautiful one as well!

 

 

So - making Cards, attending first markets and

planning to offer some Scrapbooking Courses ..

here we go!

 

 

the next one to leave...

and again another one to leave Europe... Patsi is flying out tonite ... same flight as Dirk and Lisa took.. we had a wonderful day today together.. so very precious! Found a great camera which we bought of course and watched her pack her stylish suitcases..excitement in the air.. new beginnings! 

it is true....

yes the first of the Baigent Family is leaving for the world trip.. Dirk and Lisa are getting ready to fly out tomorrow...
Changes in life are always a chance for new beginnings and getting out of the safety zone is at times scary but also a chance to find out what life is really built on.

As a parent there comes this day when you have to step aside to let your young adults fly and start their own lives. I have to admit it really was not easy but a process. Although they are not close by they always remain dear to my heart. Relationships are the most precious treasure that we all have. Guarding and caring and nurturing them is worth all the effort.

The Process of a Gatefold Album

First - some Cappucino.. than.. inspiration from the papers I have.. next: How does it work.. Glue everywhere... some more thinking... and then.. after some days finally.. the finished Album!

Zuerst - einen Cappucino,.. dann Inspiration von den Papieren die ich hab, als nächstes: wie mach ich das... und überall Kleber...überlegen, überlegen.. und dann, nach einigen Tagen - ENDLICH! das fertige
Album!

Mit kleinen Elementen Hingucker gestalten... hinter jeder "Baumschichte" findet sich noch Platz für ein Foto oder Text.... creating with small elements... behind each layer stick fotos or simply write a message!

Also die Zeit in Chile war wunderbar, nicht lang genug und mit schönen Erinnerungen kam ich zurück.... The time in Chile was just wonderful, not long enough and full of wonderful memories I came back to... nearly Christmas time .. time to share some crafts, gifts, ideas! Zeit ein paar weihnachtliche Basteleien hier zu zeigen!

I worked on the letters - with stamping and coloring them as well as looking for copper details to match the fotos in sepia. Die Buchstaben habe ich eingefärbt und bestempelt und Metall Elemente passend zu den Sepia Fotos verwendet.

The Lovebirds

To play round with delicate colors is a challenge not to have them too bland or even boring. I liked the challenge and the three dimensional paperart that I used to emphasize the flowers on the pages. Mit feinen Farbtönen gestalten ist eine Herausforderung. Nicht eintönig zu sein oder gar langweilig zu wirken - dieser Herausforderung habe ich mich gestellt und die 3D Technik bei den Blumen verwendet.

while spring is past... the colors remain my favorites still... and when it comes to Minibooks... this one is reminding me of it! obwohl der Frühling schon vorbei ist,sind diese Farben immer noch meine Favoriten und wenns um Minibooks geht - dieses ist mein Lieblingsbook!

Happy together - He still is my all time favorite - friend, lover, husband of 25yrs!
